  • 1. Cook the Rice Noodles

Soak the rice noodles in hot water for about 10 minutes, then drain them. Cook the noodles in boiling water for about 2 minutes or until tender but firm. Rinse with cold water and drain.

  • 2. Assemble the Pho

Place the cooked rice noodles in a bowl, top with slices of meat, and pour the hot broth over everything. Add your choice of toppings and serve immediately.

  • 3. Prepare the Broth

Combine beef bones, ginger, onion, and spices in a large pot filled with water. Simmer for several hours to extract all the flavors and create a rich broth. Remember to skim off any impurities that rise to the surface for a clear broth.

  • 4. Add Spices

Add star anise, cloves, and cinnamon sticks to the broth. These spices are essential for the traditional Pho flavor. Continue to simmer the broth for at least 3 hours.

  • 5. Prepare Toppings

Slice beef or chicken thinly, chop fresh herbs like cilantro and green onions, and prepare bean sprouts, lime wedges, and chili peppers. Each topping adds a unique flavor and texture to your Pho.
